Developer at Typekit in San Francisco, CA
We’re hiring: Developers
We’re looking for developers to join the Typekit team. We have a fine tuned development organization. We are agile as in fast. We value people that can look at a large problem and come back with a solution. We all do support, we all do QA. You are highly self directed, and in return we trust you to do your job.
The person
You’re an all-around developer. You test first. You solve problems. You understand the full stack, regardless of where you’re most comfortable working. Most importantly, you’re consumed by solving big problems. Do you see yourself building your own product someday? You might just consider joining us as a step towards that goal.
The tools
We use a lot of tools to get the job done. Ideally, you’re familiar with some of what we use. If not, you’re ready to challenge us on our choices.
Back: Ruby, Rack, Sinatra, Resque
Front: JavaScript, jQuery, Closure, CSS3, SASS
Data: MySQL, Redis, Mongo
Test: RSpec, Cucumber, Selenium
The benefits
What do we have to offer? We’re a fast-growing, well-funded start-up with a vision for how we can change the web for the better. The gap between your ideas and their launch in our product will be shorter than anywhere else. And we’re an increasingly distributed team, so you can work from pretty much anywhere.
The process
Tell us about an all-consuming problem and describe how you’re working to solve it. While you’re at it, tell us how you’ll help Typekit advance what’s possible on the web and why you will rock this job as a Typekit team member. Resumes are helpful, but we care more about what you have to say.
Who we are
Typekit brings real typography to the web. Built around web standards, our service gives designers and developers a subscription-based library of hosted, high-quality fonts to use on their websites. We have over 250,000 customers including some of the largest sites on the web today: The New York Times, Conde Nast, IGN, Twitter, and many others. Based in San Francisco, the company was founded in 2008 by some of the web’s most experienced designers and developers with the goal of advancing what's possible on the web. The team we’re building continues to reflect that.
Don’t think this job is right for you, but know someone who might be a great fit? Please pass it along! Thank you.
